About me

As a transmasc agender nonbinary person, the path to feeling good in my skin hasn't always been the easiest.  Though I've faced my share of struggles, I've also come to deeply believe in the resilience of the human spirit and our capacity for healing, even in the face of systemic racism, trauma and daily hardships.

My personal experiences have fueled a passion for supporting others through their own healing processes. As a bit of a nerd at heart, I find solace in the natural world through activities like hiking and exploring the outdoors. I also love delving into imaginative realms through tabletop gaming, writing, and art. These interests and perspectives have all woven together to shape the vision for Rooted Heart Therapy.

About

Rooted Heart Therapy

I offer a range of specialized services, including individual therapy, relational work for adult children and parents, couples, interracial couples, and polyamorous configurations, and EMDR therapy. I tend to work best with clients who have complex trauma, who have been impacted by existing oppressive systems in some way, and people who are looking to build long-term resilience and the ability to thrive, not just survive.

Like tree roots and mycelial networks, we are all intricately connected. Yet colonial practices have long believed that therapy and healing can only happen in isolation. Nature and the way it grows and thrives, however, shows us the opposite - to heal, learn, and move forward, we must work together and support one another with excitement, kindness, and patience, no matter what stage of the journey a person may be in.

In this sacred space, we stay true to our guiding values of flexibility, evolution, and compassion. These cornerstones inform the way we'll approach your healing journey. Through fostering a sense of connection, community, and reduction of symptoms. Just as trees and fungi intertwine their roots to share resources and support one another, we are here to nourish your growth with patience and understanding.

"English did not just borrow words from other languages; it was stuffed to the brim with foreign influences, a Frankenstein vernacular. And Robin found it incredible, how this country, whose citizens prided themselves so much on being better than the rest of the world, could not make it through an afternoon tea without borrowed goods."
